Retail Manager Trainee

About This Role

This Store Manager Trainee program prepares you to run your own store through hands-on leadership experience. You'll learn how to manage operations, develop teams, and drive results while working side-by-side with associates in a fast-paced environment. This role combines leadership responsibilities with active participation in daily store operations, including stocking, merchandising, customer service, and maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports to ensure desired results; lead and develop store personnel
• Develop and implement action plans using company provided resources to improve operating results
• Oversee the appropriate resolution of employee and customer concerns, aligning with the district manager, as needed
• Interview candidates for store positions and provide recommendations to the district manager
• Manage personnel, including recommending personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate
• Communicate, cooperate, and interact effectively with all levels of ALDI personnel, customers, third-party vendors and business partners
• Collaborate in the resolution of any issues that arise within the store to minimize potential liability for the division and the company
• Lead, develop, and supervise the team to develop sales, engage our teams, satisfy our customers and achieve consistent high performance
• Understand and oversee the execution of the overarching company strategy while communicating and modeling the core values of the organization
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment and promote teamwork among employees
• Oversee and manage compliance with policies and procedures within the store, as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Train and develop store personnel to achieve their maximum professional potential, using appropriate training materials
• Observe and evaluate employees’ work performance and provide feedback and coaching as appropriate
• Ensure store personnel comply with the company customer services guidelines and demonstrate appropriate interactions with customers and co-workers
• Resolve concerns from store personnel and customers independently and/or escalate concerns to the district manager as necessary
• Model, communicate and supervise compliance with company policies and procedures
• Ensure a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, promoting proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
• Prepare, manage and revise weekly schedules to ensure accuracy
• Ensure store personnel adhere to expense guidelines, inventory procedures, product handling, and cash handling policies to minimize losses
