About This Role
The Retail Manager is responsible for growing the business and developing the team within one or more specialized merchandise departments at a Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's retail location. This role involves leading world-class customer service and operational delivery by engaging Outfitters daily in all aspects of department operations, including merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, staff selection, and development.
Responsibilities
- Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers
- Meet or exceed all financial plans
- Execute all sales event plans
- Act as Manager on Duty and open/close the store
- Maintain planograms
- Maintain all standards of cleanliness and safe work
- Staff the departments with service-oriented Outfitters; participate in interviewing and selection, coordinate training, review and evaluate team member performance, prepare weekly work schedules, coach and motivate Outfitters to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment
- Resolve customer and Outfitter issues
- Carry out management functions in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years in retail management with responsibility for sales and merchandising
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages
- Ability to read and analyze relevant reports and data
- Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to understand a variety of other financial, compliance, workplace safety and/or technical information
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others
- Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with others
- Strong knowledge of/ability to learn with various office technology and software applications which relate to a retail business
- Ability to obtain a Possession and Acquisition License (P.A.L.)
