Who You Are:

Michael Kors Korea Retail Director is a pivotal role to drive and lead the growth of Michael Kors Korea business and its organization. You will be responsible for business development by increasing sales and profit and overseeing all aspects of sales and marketing operation including MD and VMD. This role will partner with senior management to maximize sales and margin goals. You will coach and mentor your team to develop business strategies, collaborating regularly with leadership and cross-functional partners. You are a positive, entrepreneurial, number and data driven mind-set, sales-focused, agile, flexible, and have the ability to take full ownership of the store’s business at all levels.

What You’ll Do:

Retail and E-commerce:

  • In alignment with company initiatives, executes actions to increase sales profit by creating strategic decision based on the needs of business, short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Develops business strategies and sets achievable goals and targets with based on data analysis, implements sales incentives to help boost sales, and ensures the Retail Managers are held accountable for achieving set goals.
  • Analyzes and manages sales. Identifies and communicates regularly with senior management on product availability and market trends to maximize productivity.
  • Ensures the channel’s store presentation and visual merchandising standards are maintained according to company directives and applies strategies to deliver the best results through merchandising and visual representation.
  • Creates a dynamic environment with superlative customer service standards, and assures the store and staff are inviting, professional, and knowledgeable on product and related company information.
  • Portrays the appropriate representation and integrity of the company and of the brand and demonstrates outstanding leadership skills.
  • Maintains an active social relationship with clients and community and understands the needs and changes of the market.
  • Remains in compliance with operational and company policies and procedures and assures all policies are enforced.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in managing operational costs and balancing all related budgetary expenses in a cost-efficient manner.

PR & Marketing, Merchandising, VMD:

  • Develop and deploy brand strategies with executives. Increase brand awareness and authenticity. Oversee brand activations and stakeholder relationships. Manage costs efficiently.
  • Develop digital content with HQ team. Align marketing efforts with business objectives. Plan and monitor digital marketing campaigns. Work with agencies for alignment. Maximize data quality and market insights.
  • Directs and develops merchandising plans and operational systems to achieve financial objectives. Utilizes sales, research, and trend analytics to develop strategies for merchandise categories and optimize product assortments. Achieve efficient inventory management ensures that popular items are always in stock, reducing lost sales, while also minimizing holding costs.
  • Responsible for all VMD Korea operations by supervising VMD Manager. (VMD Strategy, Display Creation, Sales and profit drive, and local display initiatives.)

People & Culture:

  • Develops and leads a high-performance team that drives sales and achieves comp store results and profitability through effective training, coaching, and motivational activities.
  • Coach and mentor team members on employee performance, sales goals and customer service issues.
  • Consistently demonstrates accountability and leadership in managing stores and its employees, delegates accordingly, and provides the staff with a professional work environment.
  • Lead MK Brand Transformation and make impact by embodying MK values through day-to-day communication and interaction with employees.
  • Analyze the business and create clear action plans to optimize the performance.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in retail management – luxury or accessible luxury experience preferred.
  • Full understanding of specialty retail, including business development and store operations
  • Computer skills to include operation of retail point of sale system, Word, Excel, and email
  • Strong leadership critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
