About the role
The Respiratory Therapist 2 will provide comprehensive respiratory care under physician guidance, including
- conducting rounds to assess patient needs
- managing ventilators
- drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases
- monitoring respiratory progress, particularly in NICU and pediatric patients
- assisting in ventilating patients during cardio-respiratory emergencies
- administering Nitric Oxide Therapy and sputum induction
- explaining respiratory devices to patients and families
- documenting patient progress in records and hospital systems
- cleaning and decontaminating equipment
- performing chest physiotherapy and assisting with pulmonary lavage/suctioning
The role may involve working in different hospital areas during staff shortages, emergencies, or census fluctuations.
