DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on supporting treatment, training, and daily living activities that help individuals gain skills and move toward personal goals. You will work closely with team members to ensure that each person receives thoughtful and well-coordinated care. As a Residential Services Aide, you will perform the following duties:

  • Plan Participation: Assist with completing assessments and training plans to provide accurate information on individual strengths, likes, and needs
  • Training Support: Help implement individual habilitation plan and individual support plans and conduct assigned training activities to support skill development
  • Progress Monitoring: Record and report information to help revise plans and improve services
  • Team Communication: Work with interdisciplinary team members to share insights and strengthen treatment efforts
  • Record Keeping: Document information in individual unit records to support communication across the team
  • Environment Support: Help enhance living areas by assisting with selecting, placing, and monitoring personal items that will maximize the therapeutic environment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM) and 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have rotating break days and every third weekend off.
  • Travel and overtime: As needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • **Salary:**Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $43,376.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six months of paid experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
