About N H D M
N H D M is a New York-based practice for design and research operating at the intersection of architecture and urbanism, founded by its partners Nahyun Hwang and David Eugin Moon. N H D M's ongoing work includes a wide range of cultural/institutional, dwelling, and community and public space projects, as well as urban, landscapes, and territorial scale design and research. The work of N H D M has been recognized through numerous awards, including the 2023 Architectural League Emerging Voices award, the 2023 and 2019 Graham Foundation Grant, the 2020 Architectural Record Design Vanguard Award, the 2019 DOMUS’ 100+ best architecture firms, the 2018 AIANY New Practices New York award, and multiple AIANY Design Awards. The firm’s work has been presented at global venues, including the 14th, 17th, and 18th Architectural Exhibition at the Venice Biennale, the 5th and 6th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, among others.
Position Overview
We are seeking a talented, dedicated Research/Publication Associate with strong trans-scalar and trans-disciplinary research and representational skills, and familiarity with and interest in architectural, ecological, urban, and territorial discourse and their representations. Familiarity with publication and editorial processes and an interest in curatorial practice and discursive production across media will be valued. Strong written communication and graphic design skills are a plus.
This is a part-time position and may be combined with other roles to form a full-time role, if applicable. This is an in-person position in New York City. Candidates must have an M.Arch or B. Arch degree, or a degree in an adjacent discipline, and authorization to work in the U.S. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and demonstrated skill level.
