Research Fellow (Psychometrician)

About This Role

This research fellow position focuses on optimizing health systems performance within the Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRiHSP) at the National University of Singapore. The role involves managing research activities, conducting psychometric analysis, and contributing to publications. It suits a psychometrician interested in advancing health systems research in Asia, with a focus on Value Based Healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead research activities including grant and IRB/DSRB applications, budgeting, planning, and monitoring project timelines
• Support project management and coordination and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Conduct literature reviews, including collation and synthesis of the literature
• Support the design, data collection, psychometric analysis, and interpretation of quantitative surveys
• Contribute to and lead (where appropriate) protocol, manuscript, and report timely writing, editing, and submission
• Present work for feedback and dissemination at workshops or conferences locally and/or internationally
• Mentor students and junior researchers
• Be flexible in their role as the CRiHSP

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Psychometrics or Statistics or in a related discipline with emphasis in psychometrics
• Experience in planning, managing, and implementing healthcare-related research projects, from conception to completion, in a university setting (essential)
• Demonstrated experience in conducting psychometric analysis using a range of methods (essential)
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken (essential)
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team (essential)
• Highly developed problem-solving skills and adept at managing complex problems (essential)
• Ability to generate and maintain an independent stream of funding (essential)
• Outcome-orientation with excellent organizational and project management skills, and attention to detail (essential)
• Ability to work with culturally diverse populations (essential)

Nice to have:

• Track record of publishing in international peer-reviewed journals
• Experience in the use of Item Response Theory methods and Computerized Adaptative testing
