What You Can Expect

The Research Engineer supports global R&D activities by applying computational modeling and simulation methods such as finite element analysis and image-based modeling to evaluate product performance, inform design decisions and support technical documentation. This role contributes to the development of new products and the maintenance of existing products, while working closely with cross-functional partners.

Work Location: Bangalore
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 Days in office)
Shift Timing - 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM

How You'll Create Impact

  • Conduct computational simulations to evaluate product performance and address biomechanics-related engineering questions.
  • Develop study protocols, execute analyses and document methods, assumptions, results, and conclusions.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and results clearly and in a timely manner.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support new product development and sustaining activities for existing products.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal workflows, methods, and software tools.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable standards, guidance documents, and relevant scientific literature.

What Makes You Stand Out

Required

  • Exposure to finite element analysis or computational modeling, and biomechanics
  • Familiarity with engineering problem solving and data analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Preferred

  • Experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar tools
  • Experience with Python or similar programming language
  • Exposure to CAD, medical image analysis, or patient-specific modeling
  • Knowledge of computational modeling verification/validation practices
  • Experience with Musculoskeletal Modeling (e.g. AnyBody, OpenSim)
  • Exposure to medical device or orthopedic applications
  • Advanced degree - Masters or higher

Your Background

  • Minimum B.S, B.E, or B.Tech degree from an ABET accredited school (or global equivalent) in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering; Advanced degree (M.S. or higher) is preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in an academic or industry setting
  • Experience in orthopedics or medical device field is desirable
