Research Assistant

About This Role

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Research Assistant will provide research support and ensure the efficient running of clinical research studies. This varied role offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a research environment, working alongside and learning from an experienced research team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment and consent of eligible study participants
• Handle and process biological samples
• Create and maintain databases
• Collect study related data
• Contribute to the analysis of study data
• Assist in the preparation of reports, writing papers and presentations

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or biomedical science
• Interest in diabetes research
• Great people skills
• Experience in a research environment
• Knowledge and experience in the use of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Experience in data analysis and database management
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people both internally and externally

Important Details

• Schedule: full-time; part-time (0.6 FTE – 0.8 FTE) will be considered
• Contract: initial 12-month period
