About This Role

This role involves the crucial task of registering patients, managing schedules, and providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. The Patient Access Representative also handles insurance verification, preauthorization requests, and payment collection, ensuring the smooth operation of the department. The role requires a friendly, courteous, and helpful approach in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Accept, record, and verify insurance information
• Process preauthorization requests
• Collect copays and account balance payments
• Scan documents into EMR
• Complete other administrative tasks related to efficient department operations
• Ensure friendly, courteous, helpful, and considerate contact with patients, families, the community, vendors, coworkers, and physicians
• Complete other responsibilities accurately and timely as needed or assigned

Requirements

• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role
• High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
