We're looking for a Vice President – Local & Statistical Regulatory Reporting for our Regulatory Reporting Team within the Finance & Controls Department to join our team in Frankfurt or Düsseldorf.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in SMBC EU's regulatory reporting framework, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of regulatory submissions to supervisory authorities. Working at the intersection of finance, regulation, and data, you will gain exposure to a broad range of regulatory requirements while contributing to reporting enhancements, regulatory change initiatives, and strategic projects across the organisation.
About this role
The Regulatory Reporting team is responsible for ensuring compliance with European and German regulatory reporting requirements and supporting the submission of reports to supervisory authorities, including the ECB, Deutsche Bundesbank, and BaFin. This role is critical in maintaining reporting accuracy, supporting regulatory change initiatives, and enhancing the Bank's regulatory reporting framework in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Taking ownership of the preparation, review, and submission of key local and statistical regulatory reports, including BISTA, AUSTA, EMISO, WPInvest, AWV, Payments Statistics, and FinaRisikoV
Supporting the production and ongoing enhancement of FINREP and Asset Encumbrance reporting
Assessing the regulatory reporting impact of new products, transactions, and regulatory developments in partnership with Finance, Risk, Business, and Technology stakeholders
Supporting system enhancements and regulatory reporting change initiatives, including testing and implementation activities within the BSM BAIS reporting platform
Maintaining high-quality reporting documentation, procedures, and controls to support operational excellence and audit readiness
Driving improvements in regulatory reporting processes, data quality, and control frameworks
Collaborating with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to support reporting requirements, investigations, and regulatory requests
Profile Description
For you to succeed in this role
At least 5 years' experience in regulatory reporting within a financial institution, consultancy, or a comparable regulated environment
Strong knowledge of German and European regulatory reporting requirements, including local and statistical reporting obligations
Practical experience with regulatory reporting systems, preferably BSM BAIS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
Strong analytical, numerical, and technical skills, combined with the ability to understand complex regulatory and business requirements

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess the impact of regulatory developments and new business activities on reporting requirements
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality and accurate reporting outputs
Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across Finance, Risk, Business, Technology, and regulatory stakeholders
A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on enhancing processes, controls, and data quality
Desirable
Experience with FINREP, Asset Encumbrance, prudential reporting, or ESG-related regulatory reporting
Knowledge of IFRS and its interaction with regulatory reporting requirements
Experience supporting regulatory reporting change initiatives, system implementations, or testing activities
Professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or Regulatory Reporting would be advantageous
