About This Role
This role is for an experienced Release Manager to bring structure and professionalize release coordination in a complex digital landscape with multiple products, teams, and external partners. The manager will improve how releases are aligned and ensure a more predictable way of working.
Responsibilities
- Map the current process by investigating how releases currently proceed per product and team, bringing together roles, decision points, tooling, and bottlenecks into a shared overview
- Standardize release processes by maintaining and improving the release framework, making clear agreements on responsibilities, controls, and escalations, with an eye for what teams need in practice
- Manage a joint release calendar by bundling the planning of different teams and making timing, interdependencies, and possible conflicts visible
- Monitor risks and readiness by following up on whether the necessary conditions for a release are met, signaling risks in a timely manner, and coordinating actions with the colleagues involved
- Guide release planning and Go/No-Go by organizing alignment around planned releases and ensuring that the responsible parties have the correct information to make decisions
- Connect teams and partners by coordinating with internal teams, external suppliers, and other stakeholders, keeping everyone informed of planning, changes, and points of attention
- Create insight and overview by clarifying the status of releases and outstanding actions, so that colleagues know what needs to be done and who is responsible for what
- Continuously improve by following up on release outcomes, collecting feedback, and translating recurring problems and good practices into concrete improvements
Requirements
- Relevant experience in release management or a similar role coordinating releases across multiple teams
- Experience in a complex landscape with many interdependencies is a plus
- Overview and insight into how planning, quality, risks, and technical dependencies influence each other, and the ability to analyze and make understandable a fragmented operation
- Pragmatic approach to quickly take on concrete tasks and help colleagues move forward, translating improvement ideas into feasible working agreements and daring to question existing processes
- Ownership and motivation to thoroughly master the environment and products, learn quickly, actively seek information, and consistently follow up on agreements and actions
- Strong communication skills to bring different teams and interests together, identify bottlenecks, and guide the implementation of new agreements
- Fluent in English, the main working language; Dutch is also spoken within the organization
