About This Role
This role involves taking overall responsibility for planning and managing software releases from initial planning to delivery. The Release Manager coordinates planning across business analysis and software development, ensuring requirements, capacities, implementation phases, and dependencies are integrated into a realistic overall plan. This is an independent staff position with a direct view of the overall project, offering the opportunity to actively develop planning and release processes.
Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for planning and managing releases – from initial planning to delivery
- Create and maintain a comprehensive release plan, considering requirements, capacities, dependencies, and target dates
- Plan and coordinate sprint and implementation phases in consultation with business analysis and software development
- Coordinate release-relevant activities and alignments with other involved departments
- Early identification of dependencies, bottlenecks, and schedule risks, and initiation of appropriate measures
- Create transparency regarding release scope, schedule, status, and open items
- Further develop release and planning processes and establish reliable, cross-departmental planning
Requirements
- Experience in Release Management, Project Management, Program Management, or a comparable coordinating function, ideally in a software environment
- Experience in planning and managing complex projects with multiple involved teams
- Ideally, experience with agile methods and planning sprint or implementation phases
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate dependencies, capacities, and deadlines across multiple areas
- Strong communication skills and confident demeanor
- Structured, proactive, and independent way of working, as well as a high sense of responsibility
- Experience in the banking sector or with banking software is an advantage
