Regulatory Affairs Specialist

About This Role

This specialist role collaborates with the Regulatory Team to interpret global regulations, assists internal and external stakeholders with regulatory compliance, and supports new product development and evaluation. The position focuses on ensuring product safety and compliance for paints and coatings in North America.

Responsibilities

• Generate Hazard Communication documents, preparing and reviewing Safety Data Sheets and Product Labels, ensuring product safety and regulatory compliance for paints and coatings in North America
• Monitor changes to regulatory requirements such as VOC regulations for the US and Canada and share information with team members
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide a regulatory perspective for ongoing and upcoming initiatives within the organization and represent Benjamin Moore in industry groups (ACA)

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Global Harmonized System (GHS)
• Knowledge of domestic and international chemical regulatory compliance
• Experience in SDS and Label generation
• Hands-on experience with regulatory compliance software
• Bachelor's degree in Science in Chemistry, Biology, Occupational or Public Health and Safety, Toxicology, Environmental Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, Product Safety, Product Compliance, or EHS
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing regulatory environment
• Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in typical Office software

Nice to have:

• Working knowledge of Transport Classification Regulations (US and Canada)
• Knowledge of paint or chemical processing
