Role & responsibilities

Regulatory Affairs & Policy Advocacy:
-
Monitor, interpret, and analyse government policies, regulatory developments, and Regulatory matters affecting renewable energy projects (solar, wind, hybrid, etc.).

Prepare and finalise petitions, replies, and rejoinders for regulatory authorities (State/Central Commissions, Tribunals, Courts).
-
Represent the company before regulatory bodies, government agencies (e.g., MoP, MNRE, SECI, NTPC, State Utilities, Discoms), and industry associations.
-
Liaise with government departments for project clearances, permits, and statutory compliance (including PPA and local statutory requirements).
-
Track and report on policy developments, case laws, and regulatory updates at both central and state levels.

Provide strategic support for business development, project management, and regulatory functions, including research and maintaining MIS for regulatory/litigation matters.

Support internal teams with regulatory expertise and ensure compliance with evolving frameworks.

Business Strategy & Project Support:

Contribute to business strategy planning, M&A, PPA management, and energy accounting.

Support pre- and post-project development activities, including government relations, strategy, policy advocacy, and commissioning.

Resolve discrepancies and issues to ensure smooth business operations.

Conduct due diligence and power studies, especially for grid connectivity and project feasibility.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Engage with regulatory authorities, clients, and internal teams to develop optimal solutions aligned with organisational goals.

Represent the company in public hearings, forums, and industry events to advocate for business interests.

Key Skills & Qualifications
-
In-depth understanding of power sector regulations in India, especially in the renewable energy domain.

Experience in regulatory affairs, policy analysis, compliance management, and project lifecycle management.

Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
-
Educational background in engineering (mechanical, electrical, etc.), law, or management (MBA/PG in Power/Energy Management preferred).
-
Proven ability to manage teams and work cross-functionally.
-
Prior experience in open access, PPA mandates, and regulatory compliance is highly valued.

Required experience and qualification
- B.E/B.Tech in engineering (mechanical, electrical, etc.), law, or management (MBA/PG in Power/Energy Management preferred).
- In-depth understanding of power sector regulations in India, especially in the renewable energy domain.
- Experience in regulatory affairs, policy analysis, compliance management, and project lifecycle management.
