Role Overview: This position involves providing direct respiratory care to infants and adults, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within hospital and departmental guidelines.
Responsibilities: The therapist performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as mechanical ventilation, nitric oxide delivery, arterial blood gas sampling, and pulmonary function testing. They communicate effectively with the healthcare team, educate patients and staff, and ensure patient safety through age-appropriate and quality-compliant care. The role includes troubleshooting clinical issues, supporting advanced procedures like ECMO and bronchoscopies, and participating in rapid response teams.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires an associate degree from an accredited program, licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT), and Basic Life Support certification. Preferred candidates hold a bachelor's degree and have advanced clinical skills. The candidate must demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, continuous learning, and the ability to prioritize multiple duties.
