About the role
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for performing a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including ABG analysis, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway maintenance.
They must be proficient in respiratory assessment and treatment for both adults and neonates, following departmental policies under indirect supervision.
Qualifications include: graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardio Life Support certifications, valid licensure in good standing, and at least 6 months of respiratory care experience.
Key duties: administering respiratory therapies, interpreting diagnostic data, assembling and troubleshooting equipment, performing physical assessments, and participating in infection control and safety protocols.
The role requires critical thinking, patient data interpretation, and effective communication to ensure high-quality patient care.
