Role Overview Provides comprehensive respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within hospital and department guidelines. Utilizes advanced clinical expertise to serve as a resource for the healthcare team, ensuring patient safety through developmentally and age-appropriate care while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Effective communication, documentation, and collaboration with healthcare team members.
- Educating patients, families, students, and staff on respiratory treatments and procedures, utilizing diverse learning methods.
- Performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards, with troubleshooting and clinical judgment.
- Applying advanced skills in critical care areas such as ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, sleep labs, and BLS as needed.
- Continuously seeking professional development and prioritizing multiple duties efficiently.
Qualifications include an Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT certification, and Basic Life Support (BLS). Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and experience in supervising or advanced clinical skills.
