About the role
Located on our historic campus in Towson, Maryland, Sheppard Pratt School and Residential Treatment Center (https://www.sheppardpratt.org/care-finder/sheppard-pratt-school-towson/) (RTC) is a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved, level V nonpublic school. We offer a year-round therapeutic educational and residential program catering to youths ages 12-18 with emotional and behavioral challenges. Our comprehensive program offers structured community and recreational activities alongside full-day special and general education schooling.
What to expect.
You will promote the health and well-being of our students, ensuring they have access to quality medical care and support through their educational journey. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to students with various medical needs, including but not limited to medication, administration wound care, and first aid.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with caregivers to provide medical treatment as indicated by student’s health needs and history.
- Supporting the school psychiatrist in medication management.
- Maintaining cumulative and comprehensive documentation for each student’s health record.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
What we need from you.
An associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Possession of a valid license to practice nursing in the State of Maryland:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- 1 year of working experience in a school setting is preferred. Any RN with less than one year of experience will automatically be placed in Sheppard Pratt's Nurse Residency Program (https://www.sheppardpratt.org/nurse-residency-program/).
