Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Telemetry

About This Role

This night-shift part-time nursing position delivers exceptional care to patients on a surgical telemetry ward. The role suits a registered nurse with strong organizational and leadership skills who can assess patient status and implement clinical nursing interventions to enhance outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Provide care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses
• Implement clinical nursing interventions
• Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, understand charting and assess patient condition
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• One year of RN experience (required)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Nice to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• Six months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support acceptable in lieu of BLS)
