About the role
The RN Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician provides specialized nursing care in an outpatient infusion setting, administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies for malignant and nonmalignant conditions.
Under the supervision of the Manager Infusion Therapy, they deliver safe, patient-centered care, addressing biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs.
Key responsibilities include performing assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating care using evidence-based practices, and ensuring culturally aware, individualized treatment.
They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, promote a respectful clinical environment, and participate in performance improvement activities.
The role involves mentoring newer staff, maintaining professional competencies, pursuing continuing education, and supporting evidence-based practice and research initiatives.
Qualifications include current RN licensure, knowledge of oncology infusion therapies, and adherence to professional standards and safety protocols.
The clinician may serve as a preceptor, contribute to protocol development, and support resource management, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and system efficiency.
Local travel and floating between sites may be required.
