This RN position at the Saint Raphael Campus offers a Medicine MICU/SDU Pathway designed for nurses interested in critical care, featuring mentorship, shadowing, and specialized training in ICU and step-down care.
Under supervision, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, supervising non-RN staff and assuming charge nurse responsibilities when needed.
Key duties include ongoing patient assessment, developing and updating individualized care plans, educating patients and families, and functioning as a preceptor.
Specialized skills include neuro assessment, airway management, trach care, ventilator support, and neuro procedures.
Qualifications include a nursing degree (BSN preferred), Connecticut RN license, BLS certification, proficiency with electronic records, and ability to use internet resources.
