Role: Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg, providing healthcare in a correctional setting.
Responsibilities: Deliver patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Collect and document medical and mental health histories.
Conduct ongoing assessments and respond appropriately.
Develop and implement personalized care plans based on initial assessments, covering physiological, psychosocial, and environmental factors.
Educate patients, assist with discharge planning, and communicate with healthcare providers and detention officers.
Administer medications following policies, observe and document responses, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Qualifications & Skills: Valid RN license, current BLS certification, and ability to pass background screening.
Minimum of 1-year acute care experience, preferably in ER or correctional environments.
Strong critical thinking, communication skills, and ability to work independently.
Commitment to caring for underserved populations.
