About the role
Role Overview The Ambulatory Nurse applies a systematic nursing approach involving assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide competent patient and family care, ensuring adherence to standards and accurate documentation.
- Offer health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
- Support staff development as a preceptor and assist with quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to departmental procedures, including developing standing orders.
- Perform prenatal non-stress tests, provide patient education, and assist with procedures like LEEP.
- Administer injections, schedule surgeries, and support telephone triage for patient needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois and BLS certification.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Strong clinical skills, adherence to scope of practice, and ability to educate and support patients and staff.
