Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

About This Role

This full-time day position on a psychiatric unit involves providing individualized, age-specific care to patients from admission to discharge. The role requires a registered professional nurse who can assess patient status, identify care needs, and collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to develop and evaluate care plans.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status and identify patient care needs upon admission/point of care entry
• Organize assessment health data so that it is accurate, complete, and accessible
• Identify problems that need immediate attention
• Validate diagnoses with patient/family and other health care team members
• Document diagnoses in a manner that facilitates communication
• Give direct care to assigned patients and assist with other patient care when necessary
• Collect and analyze assessment data in determining nursing diagnoses
• Collaborate with the patient/family and other health care team members
• Develop a plan of care to attain realistic outcomes
• Provide education founded on evidence-based practice
• Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
