About the role
Role Overview: The Ambulatory Nurse applies a systematic nursing approach, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver competent patient and family care, ensuring adherence to care standards and accurate documentation.
- Provide health and wellness education to patients and groups.
- Support staff development by acting as a preceptor and mentoring healthcare students.
- Lead initiatives to improve care quality and clinical outcomes.
- Assist in developing departmental standing orders.
- Perform triage, medication refills, injections, and assist providers with pump refills and procedures.
- Complete prior authorizations and ensure comprehensive documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
