About the role
Role Overview: The Palliative Medicine Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to adult patients with chronic and life-limiting illnesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, education, care planning, and coordination in both ambulatory and hospital settings.
- Support the care of patients and families, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of care.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, mentoring, and team activities.
- Delegate tasks based on skill level and resource availability.
- Possibly drive personal vehicle as part of role requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least one year of RN experience; BSN preferred.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively with ambiguity.
- Current RN license, BLS certification, and additional state or specialty certifications as required.
- Experience in patient education, care coordination, and team collaboration.
Additional Details: The role is nonexempt, full-time, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, dayshift hours. Compensation ranges from $35.84 to $58.84 per hour, with benefits including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans. The position supports TN sponsorship and requires licensure prior to employment. The RN will participate in professional development and contribute to expanding nursing roles in palliative care.
