Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift (3x12s) | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 3 Shifts Per Week | Approximately 34.5 – 37.5 Hours Per Week
Pay Rate: $2,725 - $3,492/Week
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit for an exciting Contract opportunity in Bronx, NY.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient evaluations.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Initiate and maintain IV access and infusion therapies.
- Monitor patients receiving conscious sedation and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide patient and family education regarding post-procedure care and recovery expectations.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support quality patient outcomes through evidence-based nursing practice.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Active New York State Registered Nurse License required.
- Primary Source Verification of RN License and Registration through NYSED required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical Nursing experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of IV Insertion experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of Phlebotomy experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of Conscious Sedation experience required.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and advanced IV therapy skills.
- Knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery standards and the ability to recognize and manage post-operative complications.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- English language proficiency (Speak, Read & Write) required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with a strong patient safety and quality care focus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Previous PACU experience preferred.
- Experience in high-acuity acute care settings preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical recovery and patient monitoring preferred.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
