Summary of the Nursing Role in Obstetrics and Emergency Department This full-time, night-shift nursing position involves working in a high-energy Obstetrics and Mother Baby unit, providing care across various departments including Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and OB Emergency.
Nurses are expected to maintain competencies in these areas and may be floated between them based on patient needs.
Key responsibilities include delivering comprehensive maternal and newborn care within a facility equipped with specialized rooms, OBED, LDR, and birthing suites, supported by full-time Lactation Consultants.
Qualifications require a graduate of an accredited nursing program, current RN licensure, and BLS certification.
Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and mobility tasks such as bending, reaching, and kneeling.
