Registered Nurse - Nurse Resident

About This Role

Attending all quality and core curriculum classes and actively participating in professional development workshops are key responsibilities of this nursing role. The Nurse Resident works under the supervision of the Clinical Education Team to refine nursing knowledge and skills while managing clinical situations with oversight from a licensed Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Attend all quality and core curriculum classes and participate in professional development workshops and peer support groups.
• Complete all clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program.
• Collect patient data and complete required forms with appropriate responses according to unit standards; identify patient problems/needs and set priorities.
• Develop a plan of care based on the nursing process, incorporating plans from other disciplines and including the patient/family in care decisions.
• Provide treatments/procedures and other care as prescribed and according to patient care standards.
• Record patient care delivered as planned and any variations, with appropriate rationale.
• Delegate nursing care to appropriate personnel and integrate cost-effective measures into nursing practice.
• Complete all clinical skills under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• No previous experience is required; candidates with more than 12 months of experience are not eligible.
• Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state of employment.
