About the role
Role: Provides professional nursing care in a Level III NICU, ensuring patient assessment, monitoring, care planning, and delegation. Acts as a team member to achieve unit goals within hospital policies and Illinois regulations.
Responsibilities: Assess patient conditions, recognize changes, document observations, and coordinate care. Float occasionally to Peds/PICU, SCN, and Mother Baby units. Support family-centered care in a 35-bed single-room NICU environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required within five years if only an Associate Degree.
- Current Illinois RN licensure and BLS certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months.
- NICU experience preferred.
Key Attributes: Critical thinking, teamwork, adherence to policies, and ability to delegate tasks. Flexible to rotate shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of neonatal care standards and procedures is essential.
