About the role
Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of recent adult medical-surgical clinical RN experience in an acute care hospital.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Multisystem assessment skills are essential to provide pain management, pulmonary and cardiovascular assessment, and management of fluid and electrolyte imbalance
- This position requires the flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN degree
- Recent clinical RN experience in an academic medical center
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Current Active American Heart Association CPR certification
