What you'll be doing

The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Provide care utilising culturally safe, trauma-informed and person-centred principles for patients within the Drug and Alcohol Inpatient Withdrawal Unit.

About You

You are a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse with current registration through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a strong background in acute care, emergency, and/or drug and alcohol services. You are committed to delivering person-centred care and bring a thorough understanding of the complexities associated with substance use disorders, ensuring care is provided in a non-judgemental, trauma-informed, and culturally safe manner.

Your clinical expertise enables you to assess, manage, and support patients experiencing substance use concerns and withdrawal presentations, while applying evidence-based interventions to promote safety and positive health outcomes. You are skilled in navigating complex clinical situations, using sound judgement and effective problem-solving abilities to identify priorities and coordinate appropriate care pathways.

You thrive in multidisciplinary environments and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, community services, patients, and families to develop and implement outcome-focused care plans. Your understanding of supporting clients with complex health and social needs within community settings allows you to provide holistic care that extends beyond the immediate clinical presentation.

An effective communicator, you utilise clinical information systems and strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to support accurate documentation, continuity of care, and positive therapeutic relationships. Adaptable, professional, and dedicated to improving patient outcomes, you consistently contribute to high-quality service delivery and the provision of safe, respectful, and responsive healthcare.
