About the role
Role Overview: The registered nurse (RN) provides comprehensive patient care on an inpatient unit specializing in adult medical, surgical, and progressive care patients. Responsibilities include coordinating nursing care, educating patients and families, and supporting transitions of care.
Key Duties
- Deliver direct patient care within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Practice Model
- Lead and mentor team members, participate in quality improvement activities, and assume leadership roles
- Delegate tasks based on patient acuity, staff skill level, and resource availability
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Support professional development and participate in committees or projects
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN, CCNE, NLN CNEA)
- Minimum of one year RN experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and teamwork
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and adaptability
- Valid RN license, BLS certification, and additional state licensure or certifications as required
