About the role
Role Overview: Provides specialized nursing care across various inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular, Mental Health, and Rehab, utilizing current technology and equipment. Performs assessments, develops and modifies care plans, administers medications, prepares patients for procedures, and ensures patient safety. Acts as a resource to staff, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and manages care for acute and chronic cardiac and pulmonary patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Implements unit procedures and maintains accurate documentation of nursing care.
- Performs initial patient assessments, develops and adjusts care plans based on evaluations.
- Ensures safety by reporting hazards and incidents, and provides patient education.
- Floats across inpatient units, delivering direct patient care, coordinating with team members, and managing patient transitions.
- Delegates tasks appropriately, responds promptly to patient needs, and maintains effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Provides post-operative care, monitors patient status, and ensures adherence to safety protocols.
- Uses critical thinking to evaluate patient conditions and act accordingly.
Qualifications & Skills
- RN license with a minimum of 1-year hospital experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- College diploma in Nursing.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
