Role Overview:
The RN First Assistant (RNFA) performs a perioperative role as a first assistant during surgical procedures, collaborating with surgeons and the perioperative team to deliver direct patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist during surgeries by providing intraoperative patient care and supporting the surgical team.
- Conduct preoperative nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient responses, adjust care plans, and administer medications following standard practices.
- Contribute to departmental efficiency, safety, and quality of care.
- Participate in professional development, incorporate research into practice, and advocate for patient safety.
- Provide education to patients and families and demonstrate ethical practice and leadership.
Qualifications & Skills:
- RN license with 2-5 years of experience.
- Must have CNOR and be a Certified First Assistant or similar credential.
- Strong teamwork, assessment, communication, and clinical skills.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Additional Details:
The role involves 8-hour PRN shifts, primarily from 7AM-3:30PM, with call responsibilities. The position requires a CNOR certification and emphasizes collaboration, patient safety, and professional growth.
