Role Overview The registered nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating comprehensive nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions. The RN supports professional practice across various settings, adhering to the Mayo Clinic Nursing Practice Model and ANA standards. They demonstrate leadership through mentoring, committee participation, and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
- Delegate tasks based on skill level, patient acuity, and resource availability.
- Ensure effective communication, mentorship, and participation in projects or committees.
- Support patient/family education and facilitate transitions of care.
- Possibly drive personal vehicles for work-related responsibilities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of a nursing program; Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred within five years for recent graduates.
- One year of RN or LPN experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; team-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in computer systems, electronic medical records preferred.
- Current RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Additional state licensure or certifications may be necessary based on the work area.
