Registered Nurse Acute Care Units

About This Role

This nursing role involves assessing, planning, organizing, performing, and evaluating nursing activities to meet patient needs in acute care units. It focuses on promoting adaptive responses from patients and families to achieve high levels of patient care, safety, and satisfaction, while coordinating care and staff interactions. The position is for experienced Inpatient RNs with at least one year of experience, working in advanced acute care units, some with specific focuses.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, organize, perform, and evaluate nursing activities to meet the needs of the patient
• Promote adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize patient satisfaction
• Exhibit compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions
• Coordinate patient care and interaction of staff
• Meet the qualifications to provide care for patients in their assigned nursing unit
• Ensure the very best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions
• Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards
• Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care
• Formulate, coordinate, and provide a plan of care as established in unit standards including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team
• Provide direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise the plan of care based upon patient response to interventions
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members and act to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs
• Problem solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment
• Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice
• Actively participate as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization
• Be accountable for unit and system specific metrics
• Actively participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as an Inpatient RN
