About This Role
This second-shift registered nurse position in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) involves closely monitoring and caring for patients immediately following surgical or procedural interventions requiring anesthesia. The role is critical for ensuring patient safety and comfort during the initial recovery period, addressing potential complications, and transitioning patients to the next phase of care.
Responsibilities

- Provide on-call coverage on weekends and holidays by rotation
- Provide care and support to patients before, during, and after surgery
- Incorporate all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity in clinical decision-making
- Supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students
Requirements
- Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky
- Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university
- Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; if not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of hire
- ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment
