Registered Midwife – Shape the Future of Maternity Care at Grampians Health

YS2 - YS8 | $43.81 - $54.40 per hour

About the Role

Grampians Health Ballarat is seeking dynamic, energetic midwives to work in the Maternity Unit's Inpatient Unit at our Level 2 hospital in Ballarat. Our Inpatient Maternity Unit provides Midwives with the opportunity to work across our maternity ward, pregnancy assessment unit and birthing suites, offering a varied and fulfilling clinical experience. The unit includes:

  • 16 inpatient beds (antenatal and postnatal)
  • 3 to 5 fully equipped birthing suites
  • A dedicated pregnancy assessment area

As a Level 5 maternity service with a co-located Level 4 Special Care Nursery (8–10 cots), we deliver integrated, high-quality care within a single floor—enhancing collaboration and continuity for patients and staff alike.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife (Direct entry or dual registration)
  • A commitment to ongoing education, evidence-based practice, and professional growth
  • Minimum of 1 year postgraduate midwifery experience
  • Strong clinical skills and a collaborative approach to patient care

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Registered Miwdife Grade 2 (YS2 - YS8) which ranges from $43.81- $54.40 per hour.
