About the role

Position Summary The Regional Remote Dyslexia Teacher provides specialized dyslexia intervention services to

identified students across multiple campuses within an assigned region through remote

instruction. This position supports the implementation of district-approved dyslexia intervention

programs with fidelity and serves as a regional instructional and compliance resource for

campuses, families, and instructional staff.

This position is eligible for funding under Title I, Part A and supports the academic achievement

of students identified as most at risk of failing to meet state academic standards.

In addition to providing direct dyslexia intervention services, the Regional Remote Dyslexia

Teacher supports campus teams through consultation, documentation, and compliance

monitoring related to dyslexia services and applicable special education and Section 504

requirements.

Qualifications Education/Certification- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferably in Special Education or a related field)

  • Valid Texas teaching certificate (EC–6 or 4–8 Generalist or applicable content certification)

  • Dyslexia certification (preferred)

  • CALT – Certified Academic Language Therapist (preferred) Experience- Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing dyslexia instruction in a public school setting (preferred)

  • Experience providing services in a remote or virtual instructional environment (preferred) Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Strong knowledge of structured literacy and evidence-based dyslexia intervention practices

  • Advanced knowledge of and compliance with federal and state dyslexia and reading disorder laws and guidance

  • Working knowledge of special education and Section 504 processes, including IEP development and implementation

  • Ability to participate in and support the ARD/IEP process across multiple campuses

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and documentation skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with students, parents, campus staff, and administrators

  • Ability to manage multiple campuses, student caseloads, and compliance deadlines simultaneously

  • Proficiency with instructional technology and virtual learning platforms

  • Ability to interpret assessment data, progress monitoring results, and student records

  • Ability to work collaboratively with campus and regional leadership teams Responsibilities and Duties

The Regional Remote Dyslexia Teacher Will- Provide direct remote dyslexia intervention services to identified students across assigned campuses within a region using district-approved programs and materials.

  • Implement dyslexia instruction with fidelity in alignment with district expectations, state dyslexia guidance and program requirements.

  • Apply knowledge of the interrelated components of reading across developmental stages of oral and written language.

  • Use data-driven instructional practices and progress monitoring to guide instructional decisions.

  • Collaborate with campus administrators, classroom teachers, special education staff, and intervention personnel to support dyslexia services and accommodations.

  • Serve as a regional instructional support and resource for dyslexia programming and implementation.

  • Support campuses in the development, documentation, and implementation of appropriate dyslexia services.

  • Participate in and support the ARD/IEP process, including:

  • Attendance and participation in ARD meetings as required,

  • Review of present levels, goals, accommodations, and service minutes related to dyslexia intervention,

  • Collaboration with diagnosticians and campus teams.

  • Maintain accurate and timely compliance documentation and paperwork related to dyslexia services, progress monitoring, service delivery, and instructional fidelity.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, instructional programming, and service delivery, as appropriate.

  • Ensure that student progress is evaluated on a regular basis and that instructional adjustments are made as needed.

  • Assist campus teams with MTSS/RTI processes related to reading and dyslexia intervention.

  • Support the alignment of dyslexia services for students served with Title I funding.

  • Establish and maintain open communication with campus leadership, teachers, families, and regional staff.

  • Recommend improvements to dyslexia instructional practices and regional service delivery models.

  • Participate in professional development and support training activities related to dyslexia instruction and compliance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects and regional initiatives.

  • Travel to campuses within the assigned region as required. Title I Funding Statement This position is Title I, Part A eligible and supports supplemental instructional services designed

to improve academic outcomes for students most at risk of academic failure. Duties and time

allocation for this position may be funded in whole or in part through federal Title I funds in

accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
