About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director-Thoracic Malignancies (Los Angeles) to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space.
This remote medical affairs role will support scientific exchange in thoracic malignancies across a regional territory. The position will build trusted relationships with external scientific leaders, facilitate peer-to-peer discussions, and serve as a key connection point between the company and the medical community. It also contributes to clinical research activities by supporting investigator inquiries, identifying potential study sites, and participating in scientific meetings.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $210,400 – $331,100 annually
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with national and regional scientific leaders to share medical information
- Facilitate peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain ongoing connectivity with scientific leaders
- Support company-sponsored trials by addressing scientific foundations and investigator inquiries upon request
- Initiate discussions with potential investigators regarding their interest in clinical trials
- Recommend study sites for Clinical Trial Operations based on investigator qualifications
- Respond to inquiries from scientists regarding participation in research studies
- Attend and contribute to scientific and medical meetings
Qualifications
- PhD, Pharm.D., MD, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant scientific field
- Minimum of 3 years of therapeutic experience in oncology
- In-depth clinical or research expertise in assigned therapeutic areas beyond terminal degree education
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking capabilities
- Proven ability to engage in doctrinal-level discussions with external stakeholders
- Good understanding of ethical guidelines and regulations in the pharmaceutical industry
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access
