Regional Director of Facilities Management

About This Role

This role provides leadership for an assigned group of Facility Directors and manages an entire region, serving as the connection between site teams and the overall Facilities Management team. The position is responsible for ensuring customers recognize the role of Facilities Management in the performance of their on-site team, and for holding Facility Directors accountable for meeting standards, achieving technical service delivery excellence, meeting financial objectives, attaining high customer satisfaction and loyalty, and fulfilling the mission of Facilities Management. It also holds primary responsibility for building the Facilities Management business in the area through adding new Ascension-related sites and desirable non-Ascension related business where possible.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or management, or 10+ years’ related experience working in healthcare facilities management or field management in healthcare facilities outsourcing
• Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM)
• 8+ years working in healthcare facilities management or field management in healthcare facilities outsourcing
• Knowledge and experience with The Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal regulations for healthcare facilities
• Five or more years’ experience in a large, multi-campus healthcare system
• Strategic leadership skills to execute initiatives and objectives
• Problem solving: Identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner and gathering and utilizing data for business decisions
• Planning/organizing: Prioritizing and planning work activities, using time efficiently and developing realistic action plans
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes in scope or direction and be flexible to adopting changes quickly
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, including technology, tools, and processes
• Experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite
• Excellent leadership skills in team environments
• Working knowledge of hospital operations and supporting hospital administration in a matrix environment
• Working knowledge of healthcare facility systems and equipment
• Critical thinking skills – ability to gather, synthesize, and analyze information to objectively draw conclusions, make reasonable decisions, provide solutions, and communicate the situation, action, and result clearly and concisely
• Decisive judgment – ability to assess situations or circumstances and draw sound and objective conclusions

• Ability to delegate tasks, follow up on assigned tasks, and report on progress of work
