About the role
Job Description:
The Drive United Group is hiring professional CDL-A drivers for a dedicated regional intermodal account based in Trenton, Michigan.
Drivers will transport intermodal containers between the Detroit market and major rail terminals throughout Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. Freight is preplanned, allowing for consistent routes and efficient scheduling.
Approximately 70% of freight is drop-and-hook with the remaining live load or unload. This position offers automatic sleeper tractors, weekly home time, and consistent freight.
Driver Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle.
- Transport intermodal container freight.
- Pick up and deliver freight between rail yards and customer locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain DOT logs and shipping paperwork.
- Follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers.
- Maintain safe and efficient driving practices.

- Choice of weekly days off (based on availability)
Job Requirements:
Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of Class A CDL driving experience
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain Hazmat endorsement within 90 days (company reimbursement available)
- Ability to operate safely in Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service
- Ability to complete required company training
