About the role

Duties

Duties listed are for the full performance level GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will be more closely supervised and your work will be more closely reviewed. You will advise and provide expertise on lands and realty related matters. Case work includes a full array of realty actions, primarily energy-related Right of Way (ROW) applications. You will also work on land disposals, acquisitions, withdrawals, revocation, classifications; lands use permits, leases, renewals, assignments and trespass detection and abatement.

If filled at the GS-09 level, assignments will be less complex and work will be more closely supervised.

Qualifications

In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-07 to qualify for the GS-09, and GS-09 to qualify for the GS-11) of the position to be filled.

To qualify at the GS-9 level: applicants must have one (1) year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal Service; OR a Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D; OR a combination of education and experience. Specialized experience at the GS-09 level is defined as: working on realty actions pertaining to land; assisting with the documents pertaining to environmental analysis for various land actions.

To qualify at the GS-11 level: applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal Service; OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M., if related; OR combination of education and experience. Specialized experience for the GS-11 level is defined as locating/interpreting laws and regulations used in adjudication of individual rights and claims filed under land law regulations; preparing environmental analysis and documents for various land cases.
