Ready to Learn Coordinator

About the Role

Ready to Learn is seeking a dedicated and organized Ready to Learn Coordinator to support early childhood, school readiness initiatives, and parent educational resources. This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and delivering programs and resources that help young children and their families prepare for success in school. The coordinator will work closely with families, community partners, educators, school districts, early learning centers, and UW staff to meet the challenges and opportunities in shaping the future of early learning and education in Adams County.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement Ready to Learn outreach programs, workshops, and family engagement activities.
• Coordinate educational resources, materials, and events that promote early literacy, social-emotional development, and school readiness skills for young children.
• Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, libraries, and other stakeholders to expand program reach.
• Support families through workshops, resource sharing, and guidance on supporting children’s learning at home.
• Manage planning programs, including scheduling, materials distribution, registration, and event coordination.
• Collect and track program data, participation numbers, and outcomes to support reporting and continuous improvement.
• Assist with communication and outreach efforts (flyers, social media, newsletters, community presentations, newspaper articles) to promote programs.
• Lead educational related committees within the UW.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure programs align with Ready to Learn goals and best practices in early childhood education via Pa state standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the mission of Ready to Learn and the United Way.
• Work is performed primarily indoors with regular travel throughout Adams County. Valid drivers license and reliable transport are required.
• Communication skills to write concise letters, reports, articles, presentations, and email.
• Grant writing annually

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s/associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered).
• Experience working with young children and families, preferably in educational, nonprofit, or community-based settings candidates may be considered.
• Strong organizational, communication, and people skills.
• Ability to work independently and work closely with the UW team for United Way event.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, email, Google Workspace, or similar).
• Reliable transportation, valid drivers license and willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for events.
• Must complete a Pa Criminal State Police Criminal History check. PA Child abuse History Certification
• Must occasionally attend evening and Saturday events. (notifications in advance)
• Must be able to lift at least fifty pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, and sit for periods of time.

Preferred:

• Experience in program coordination, family engagement, or early literacy initiatives.
• Knowledge of school readiness frameworks, early childhood development, or public media/educational outreach programs.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
