About This Role
Developing and maintaining cross-platform mobile applications using React Native is the core of this engineering role, contributing to innovative solutions for users across iOS and Android platforms. This position is central to the company's mobile-first strategy, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native for both iOS and Android platforms
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into functional mobile solutions
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality and consistency
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and optimise application speed and responsiveness
- Integrate third-party APIs and libraries to enhance application functionality
- Participate in debugging and troubleshooting application issues across different devices and operating systems
- Stay current with React Native updates, emerging technologies, and industry best practices
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools
Requirements
- Proven professional experience developing mobile applications using React Native for at least 2+ years
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and a solid understanding of functional programming concepts
- Experience with cross-platform mobile development and familiarity with native iOS and Android development principles
- Demonstrated experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Context API, or MobX
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and experience integrating backend services
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git
- Experience with testing frameworks and a commitment to writing unit and integration tests
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have:
- Experience with native modules, Expo, or Firebase integration
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools
- Experience with performance monitoring and analytics tools
