About This Role
React Native Developer is an exciting position focused on enhancing the 118 118 Money mobile app. This role involves taking a leading part in the app's design, implementation, maintenance, and support, with an emphasis on delivering high performance and an excellent user experience.
Responsibilities
- Play a leading role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the 118 118 Money mobile app
- Focus on delivering a high-performance app and great user experience
- Deliver scalable, reusable components and front-end libraries
- Contribute in a range of areas from translating UI designs and UX wireframes into high-quality code
- Optimize components for maximum performance and user experience
- Work with native modules when required
- Test and release to iOS and Google Play stores
- Conduct code review and debug activities
- Become a key player in the technology team, participating in design forums, sprint retrospectives, and daily stand-ups
- Work closely with the security, commercial, operations, and compliance teams
Requirements
- Experience as a software engineer working in a mobile development role
- Demonstrable hands-on experience of delivering React Native apps to best practice standards
- Passionate about software and an advocate of general engineering best practices such as domain-driven code architecture, encapsulation, separation of concerns, single responsibility, and clean code practices
- Excellent understanding of iOS and Android platform fundamentals
- Familiarity with the latest design patterns for mobile development like MVC frameworks
- Good understanding of the Scrum delivery framework, blended with a pragmatic approach to delivering in resource and time-constrained environments
- Familiarity with scrum ceremonies, sprint ceremonies, sprint demos
- Flexible and responsive, with the ability to adjust and change direction as the business environment and technology universe evolves and changes
Nice to have:
- Experience with any of the following: Redux, RESTful APIs, MSSQL & relational databases, GitHub, automated test suites like Mocha, Jest
