Team Overview Reach by Ashurst Perkins Coie is the firm's dedicated flexible legal resourcing platform which provides the firm and its clients with access to a high quality talent pool of consultant lawyers and paralegals. We understand that our clients need access to highly qualified lawyers, project managers and paralegals, often at short notice and/or for short periods, whether that be to meet internal demands, backfill leave, provide cover during recruitment or to assist with projects. Essential Skills And Experience We are currently looking for an Associate/Senior Associate with proven post-qualification experience in corporate lending to join our team in the London office for 6 months initially.
Main tasks and qualities:
- You would typically act on all elements of a financing from term sheet stage, through to closing and post-closing. Your specific areas of responsibility will be the drafting and negotiation of facility agreements and intercreditor agreements, supervising other members of the team, negotiating security documents and liaising with local counsel on multi-jurisdictional matters, ensuring a smooth process to transaction close.
- You will be encouraged to build client relationships with our relationship banks and key corporate clients and to have a desire to build on these and develop your own client network with support and guidance from the partners and wider team. Most of our associates will go on a client secondment to further develop personal and firm relationships and enhance their commercial skills.
- You will be encouraged to use AI solutions in your work and developing AI capabilities is an essential part of this role.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Drafting of legal documents;
- Advising clients;
- Negotiating with counterparts and leading calls;
- Coordinating completion of transactions.
Experience:
- Strong general banking experience with a focus on corporate lending in private practice
- Experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents
- An adaptable ambitious person who is a fast learner, with experience practising on multi-jurisdictional matters
- A team-player who can work effectively with colleagues at all levels
- Client facing experience and the ability to understand and respond effectively to client needs
