Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols
• Operate advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity
• Review images for quality, accuracy, and completeness prior to submission for interpretation
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and ALARA principles to protect patients, visitors, and staff
• Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support seamless patient care
• Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and departmental workflow
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support departmental goals related to patient satisfaction, safety, and operational excellence
• Perform diagnostic radiographic, CT scan, mammography, bone density, ultrasound, or special procedures according to department protocols
• Function as the first line interface with customers and successfully accomplish their imaging needs
• Participate in PI/QC activities
• Assist in maintaining the Performance Improvement Program
• Oversee radiology area and/or staff in Manager's/Director's absence
• Maintain department supplies
• Promote teamwork and good customer service
• Schedule for assigned sub-departments and maintain supplies and equipment for assigned sub-department
• Process and transmit images to PACS

Requirements

• Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State
• Appropriate national certifications in two modalities required (effective July 1, 2017)
• Current BCLS (AHA)
• Familiarity with State and Federal regulations
• Proficient computer skills
